Mike Knetzger

Mike Knetzger is a Sr. Development Manager on the Energy Storage team at Hexagon. In this capacity, he is responsible for overseeing the development and management of energy storage projects at Hexagon with a focus on the identification and resolution of project and portfolio-level risks.
Mike started his career at solar development firm HelioSage Energy, joining as the company’s first employee. Over eight years Mike and the HelioSage team built a national portfolio of utility-scale solar projects and was successfully acquired by Coronal-Energy. As Director of Project Development Mike was directly responsible for greenfield development of utility-scale solar projects from site acquisition through project sale.
Following the sale of the HelioSage platform to Coronal-Energy Mike pursued an MBA and founded an Organic herb farm, with an emphasis on environmental stewardship and regenerative agriculture practices. Mike joined the team at Hexagon Energy in 2023.
Mike holds a BA in International Relations from the University of Virginia and an MBA from The University of Pennsylvania Wharton School.
