Matt Hantzmon joins Hexagon as Chief Executive Officer

Today, Hexagon Energy announces that Matt Hantzmon is joining the company on a full-time basis as Chief Executive Officer of the company.  Matt recently completed the successful integration of HelioSage Energy into Coronal Energy (Powered by Panasonic) over the past 18 months. Matt brings a wealth of project development and financing experience to Hexagon, having developed and financed over 500 megawatts of solar projects and 7,500 megawatts of wind energy projects. Highlights include the completion of one of the country’s largest Southeastern portfolios (60 MW), selling power to Duke Energy-Progress (NC), and executed PPAs with Connecticut Light & Power (Fusion Solar, 20 MW), Georgia Power (Richland Solar, 20 MW), Idaho Power (60 MW), Pacific Power (38 MW), and the Tennessee Valley Authority (60 MW). Most recently, he led the development of a 120 megawatt portfolio of projects for Gulf Power, a Southern Company (NYSE:SO), on military installations in NW Florida.

From 2012-2014, Mr. Hantzmon participated on a team that was retained as a solar consultant and transaction advisor by Dominion Power (NYSE: D), a Fortune 200 investor-owned utility. As the manager of Dominion’s Solar Acquisition Program, his team participated in the development, financing, and construction of an additional 232 MW of projects in CA, IN, GA, TN, and CT.

Prior to founding HelioSage, Matt was Managing Director of Greenlight Energy, Inc., an independent power producer focused on wind energy projects. While at Greenlight, he participated in the development of over 6,000 megawatts of wind energy facilities. He also helped finance over 450 megawatts of completed wind energy projects. In 2006, Greenlight was sold to BP Alternative Energy.

Matthew is also a Founder and Director of Columbia Power Technologies, a development stage company focused on the commercialization of an innovative wave power generation system originally invented at Oregon State University. He is an active investor in renewable energy technologies and is the Chairman of the Board of Lumin Inc., an innovative energy efficiency platform company.
