Hexagon Energy and Cypress Creek Renewables Celebrate the Completion of the Bay Branch Solar Facility

Today, Hexagon Energy, an independent energy development firm focused on utility-scale and community solar projects, and Cypress Creek Renewables, the leading solar developer in the U.S., celebrated the commissioning of the Bay Branch Solar facility in Beaufort County, North Carolina. Hexagon partnered with Cypress Creek to develop the solar photovoltaic (PV) project under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Duke Energy. Hexagon was responsible for all aspects of development, including site selection, PPA negotiation, interconnection, and permitting. Cypress Creek was responsible for the financing, engineering, procurement, and construction of the project.

The Bay Branch Solar project is comprised of more than 22,000 PV panels with a nameplate capacity of 7.2 MW DC. The project will generate over 12.5 million kWh of renewable electricity each year, equivalent to the annual electricity usage of 1,250 homes.
