Carmen Winn
Project Geologist
Carmen serves as a Project Geologist at Hexagon Energy, supporting geothermal resource assessment, exploration, and development across the Great Basin through multidisciplinary data integration and conceptual modeling.
Prior to joining Hexagon, Carmen worked with Geologica Geothermal Group and Sandia National Laboratories on geothermal projects spanning the western United States, Central America, Kenya, Europe, Taiwan, and Indonesia. Her experience includes greenfield prospect evaluation and data-gap analysis; U.S. Department of Energy-funded assessments of enhanced geothermal systems (EGS) and hot sedimentary aquifers; and research into lost circulation during geothermal drilling. Her technical expertise includes geologic fieldwork, GIS, geothermal geochemistry, and the integration of geologic, geochemical, geophysical, and well datasets into conceptual models.
Carmen holds a Ph.D. in Geoscience from the University of New Mexico, where her research included hot spring geochemistry on the Tibetan Plateau, as well as the geologic evolution of the Grand Canyon. She earned her B.S. in Geology from Northern Arizona University.
