Gloucester County Planning Commission Recommends Approval for Fox Mill Solar and Daffodil Fields Solar
Hexagon Energy is pleased to share that the Gloucester County Planning Commission unanimously voted to recommend approval of Conditional Use Permits for two Hexagon Energy solar projects — Fox Mill Solar and Daffodil Fields Solar — during its May 2026 meeting. The recommendations will now advance to the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors for final consideration.
Both projects are located along the west side of Fary's Mill Road and will each utilize approximately 50 acres of their respective parcels for solar development. Together, the two facilities are estimated to generate approximately 6 megawatts of utility-scale solar energy each through ground-mounted, rotating solar arrays, with the combined capacity to power roughly 2,000 homes.
Community members who spoke during the public comment period were unanimously supportive, citing the projects' compatibility with rural land preservation and the county's long-term development goals. As co-applicant John O'Connor noted of the Daffodil Fields project, the opportunity to lease land for solar has allowed his family to preserve their property for future generations.
We are grateful for the Gloucester County Planning Commission's thoughtful review of these projects and look forward to continuing to work with county officials and community stakeholders as these projects advance toward final approval.
