Hexagon Energy, a renewable energy project development company specializing in solar, wind, wave, biomass, and storage projects, is seeking a Strategy Analyst to support its renewable energy development efforts. The Strategy Analyst will be responsible for researching, summarizing, and making recommendations regarding market size, legislation, regulations, and applicable tariff structures.
Candidates must demonstrate a keen interest in and knowledge of the renewable energy industry. The ideal candidate’s career history should demonstrate the ability to efficiently and effectively balance multiple projects in a deadline driven, team-oriented environment. Attention to detail (accuracy and thoroughness) is a must.
Ideal candidates will have 1-2 years of energy policy analysis or equivalent industry experience.
Roles & Responsibilities
Research and report on utility solar energy procurement programs
Analyze and report on market conditions and new markets
Research and track pertinent legislation and regulation in key markets
Identify potential off-take strategies and conduct initial utility outreach
Prepare proposals for utility outreach, including unsolicited bids and RFP responses
Assist in financial modeling efforts
Support the project development team in its development efforts
Strong research and writing skills
Broad technical understanding of industry and major industry drivers
Communication skills—ability to distill technical information to layperson
Ability to balance multiple projects and prioritize needs with timely responses
Creative problem solving
Education & Additional Certifications
Applicants with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Public Policy, or other related majors which require extensive research and writing.
This position is based at Hexagon’s headquarters in Charlottesville, Virginia.
